Hello October

Assalamualaikum,

Yes it's already halfway October. Only now I get to catch up.
After all the rumblings, mumblings random stuff and every sort of negativity that crossed my mind (as written in previous posts) I decided to just let it gooo. astarghfirullah.

*Sigh*

So now, I'm in my 3rd block which is GIT. I really wish to go back to Hematology despite the horrendous works and never ending topics about blood disorder. At least they got no anatomy. This time, a whole week of anatomy. *cry* I thought I like anatomy but hmmm I don't think so. However, it is really important to know and understand that. *yes it is* I barely finished reading the first lecture. Every lecture got a least 100++ slides. Allahuakhabar. *cryharder* Massive!
Anatomy please be good, I need to score. :(

Now I have to prepare for my second week which include physiology. Alhamdulilah but still I need to revise. hmmmmm. Please give me strength oh Allah.

And I got holiday to plan some more! Excited but I couldn't concentrate much on that. GIT got lots of thing going on. MasyaAllah.

I wish everyone can sort their things up in sya Allah.
Oh Allah please let the heart be content in everything that You have blessed on us. Amin.

p/s: Lately I kept reminiscing something about being a baby and kid. We were once a baby. Looking a babies made me wonder on how pure and innocent everyone was. Masya Allah. Very calming to think about.

Upset and dissapointed

New block: Heamatology

Is it heamatology or hematology? They said this is the toughest block of our year two. It's a challenged for us to perform well in this block. I put in high hope for this because I have some regret during final respiratory the other day. I was so nervous that I couldn't do my OSCE well. I couldn't even answer the question prompted. The answer is as simple as heart failure. It was at the tip of my tongue but I couldn't say it. How sad. But,

Alhamdulilah thank you Allah for that.

From there I learnt a lot of things. I would also like to thank my roomate MasyaAllah for her strenuous efforts to keep me sane that day and push me to discover what is right.

She told me that "You know you had done your best, work on it and practiced. It is just a matter of that day Allah does not allow that to happen. The way you wanted. From now on stand for yourself and try not to hold on the things that we cannot change." Masya Allah. I can see through her Allah is teaching me new perspective. I did cried on her though but I knew that will be the last one on this matter. Alhamdulilah.

At the end of the day, I discover that maybe OSCE is not the thing that Allah wanted to test me at that time. Maybe it just something more important that I have to realize. In sya Allah for better us.

Reflection: Are You Jealous of Others?

Let's take time and reflect. Are we the type of girl that jealous of others? if yes, maybe it's time to revisit our iman and faith. In sya Allah.

Believe in yourself

Assalamualaikum

Tomorrow is my first OSCE examination which include CVS and respiratory system. MasyaAllah I feel like roller coster in my heart. I couldn't imagine the situation tomorrow. We will be given 5 minutes each to perform the examination. It is a standardize clinical examination where we have to examine our patient.  Alhamdulilah we have been briefed and practiced on it. May Allah help us through tomorrow Amin.

Off few things I learned today are:

1. When you are unsure about a thing, ASK! I had a terrible night because I couldn't get my PBL assignment right. Every time before PBL presentation I will freak out. I always think that my answer is not good enough and end up stressing about that. Which I was suppose to believe in myself right? I had done the reading and assignment as I was suppose to do. Hmm. So I decided to ask my lecturer about my part and she was just fine with it. Yes it is not complete but she said "don't stress out, this is just PBL and if there's anything that need to improve we can add it up right" Ahhhh Alhamdulilah. :,)
2. ASK, the RIGHT person. Haha. Yes. As i mentioned tomorrow is the first time our batch will have OSCE examination. instead of asking the senior per se, we should also ask the lecturer who in charge of the OSCE. Alhamdulilah my batch leader got in contact with the head of OSCE. She agree to see us and explain. Alhamdulilah. At least I got a clearer image of tomorrow. In sya Allah it will be okay right? :) 
3. One of my lecturer mentioned something like "we are not going to be the best doctor, but a good enough one is enough because there always room for improvement in just good enough". So lets make improvement and always forgive yourself. In sya Allah.
4. Each of us yearn to be happy and get to be with someone that make us happy in sya Allah. I need to make sure that I am happy myself so that I can make others happy too. Be content with what I have right now and focus on what important. Do what is necessary and ALWAYS leave the rest to Allah. He knows best. Allah please make my heart firm on your path and make believe on what You have in store for me. 
5. Those who are good in certain things, they teach others sincerely. O Allah, make us one of those kind. Amin

Let always make dua. He will ALWAYS listen and answer them, right?

Can we get tea intoxicated?

1. I'm still at home because we are on public holiday (Malaysia 57th Independence Day on 31st August).
2. I have been drinking lot of tea since the beginning of this week. At mamak I will definitely order teh tarik while at home I make my own. I prefer my tea to be sugar less. I didn't put in any sugar in my tea or coffee. I taste it best that way. So I couldn't make tea for my friends and family because they won't like it. Yah, too much tea I guess my stomach is quite upset. :,( *sigh*
3. I also caught flu because I have been doing some cleaning without mask. Just mild ones. Hope to get better soon. (My thought on this: Alhamdulilah if Allah befall me with this just to remove my sins. This is the only reason that make me feel more serene in facing tribulation. Indeed the remembrance of Allah do hearts find at rest -13:28)
4.  I slept this morning and woke up a little bit upset because it is just a dream. I wish it was real. Allah knows. But I still wish one day it will come true because I'm waiting. In sya Allah. :)
5. PMS alert: My eyesight got bit blurred every time. (Anyone experience this too?)

Study Less, Study Smart - Marty Lobdell

 Off two things from this video that I would like to put in my weekly goals are: 

1. To spent at least 5 -10 minutes after each class to review and expand the notes that I've been jot down during lecture. 
2. Do more mnemonics to memorize stuff. 

He introduce some other tips on how to maximize our study time. I have been practicing one which is to study in small chunk of time. I take a 5 minutes break after 15 minutes of studying. I know to some people 15 minutes is short study time but for me, my attention span only lasts around that. There go my effective study period. What's yours?

Perth: City Stay Apartment

Finally, I have strength to fight my procrastination to blog about our Perth trip. Just sharing some stuff because most of the time before we go for vacation we will go through blogs to get some ideas about the places.

We stayed at City Stay Apartment. This is one of the top place to stay. As for family it is very comfortable. I'm not sure the pricing because my dad arranged everything. Well, but I know this place is just opposite Harbour Town (shopping paradise!). These are couple pictures of how it looks inside our apartment.

Kitchen complete with stove, microwave and fridge. Inside the cupboard are cooking utensils and dining stuff. Just some tips here, my mom pack along plastic bags (the one that they use to pack food) or you can choose any kind because we do not know who has used it and what kind of food they have eat with it. So to avoid any syubhah we covers our plate with plastics. We do not use any of the cooking utensils and bought along small rice cooker. We cook rice and eat with can food. In sya Allah I will post on food that we brought along. Perth has many restrictions on food and Alhamdulilah by abiding that we had our immigration check run smoothly.

And, lastly...

Washing machine with drier! Thank you City Stay Apartment for these. Very unusual to have washing machine in your apartment room. But this place nailed it! And of course there is shower. Hihi. Love this place. (Oh yes, there is iron too! Complete isn't it?)

Last raya hols, my dad take the whole family to Perth Australia. Alhamdulilah it was a memorable one. So here are some of snippet from our first day in Perth.  We went there with Air Asia X. Alhamdulilah KLIA 2 is as good as KLIA. I love the new building, a lot of shopping places! One thing, the place is really big that it is tiring to walk to departure hall. -.-' Not so good for elders as they might need wheelchairs.

I just wanna skip the arrival part, airport transfer and car rental. I will do another post on it in sya Allah later. So here is our first destination,  Caversham Wildlife Park. It's about 1 hour from our car rental place in the city.

 Don't get lost. The place is huge!

After walking through the park we saw this animals crib's. There are cows, sheep, horse and many more. We can go inside and they just all around us.

Meet KPOP (A Llama)! Never has chance to be this close with such an awesome creature ^.^ I bet he dance SJ very well too. No?

Selfie?

This is a demonstration on how to shave sheep's coatings. They're useful for rugs, jackets and more. I don't think this will hurt the sheep. I believe that Allah has created this for it purpose. And the sheep will grow its coverings fast during winter to keep them warm. Subahanallah. Allah's perfection.

So after the show, we walk some more and meet this albino (I guess) Kangaroo

 Moving on. We went to see wombat and friends show. Where we will have chance to take more pictures.

We took some time to be around kangaroos. Dora love them

After battling with excitement and fear that the kangaroo will bite, I have some courage to pat them. Yay!

More kangaroos. The joey is still inside the pouch. My mom really amazed with the kangaroo she said "The joeys are big enough but it mother still carry them everywhere. Look at it's feet cannot fit the pouch. How much loves to the kids." Subahanallah. Amazing right?

So that is our visit to the park. The park is actually big. There are a lot of animals but these are the main attraction as we cannot see them in Malaysia. It's a must visit place in Perth. Well if you have never seen kangaroo like me. hehe. So after Wildlife Park we went to Chocolate Factory (which I will update in another post in sya Allah).

2 weeks of commitment

Alhamdulilah, it has been 2 weeks since I started new term. My two weeks end with mid course for this block. Alhamdulilah I did quite well. Just hoping the result will fulfill my goal. In sya Allah.

I just wanna quick recap.

Academic wise

1. Aropa can be good. My group members obtain quite high marks for that. Worth every single effort! *clapclap*
2. My Peerwise reputation is still low. Now that my brother is in the same uni as I, he keep asking about  my  reputation -.-'. (New goal for 3rd week is to get top reputation in Peerwise. Amin)
3. Irat Grat was O-K.
4. I need to read more and revise.
5. Plan more and make believe. 

Personal wise

1. Alhamdulilah.
2. I don't know why, staying away from friends is kinda my option now. Not that I hate people but I prefer to keep distance a bit. I love you guys but now is not the best time. One day we will reunite in sya Allah. (I miss my best friends -M,H,W-. If you guys read this, please pray for all of us )
3. Keeping myself motivated is a MUST. It is quite tough but now I know some that work best for me. In sya Allah.  (Do you have one?)
4. I wanna read books that is not related to my study field. (I need to make time.huh.)
5. Big plan coming up. Hopefully to make it happen. In sya Allah. :*:*:*

1. The first day we were introduced with new learning system which is Aropa. It is a collaborative ways of learning. We have to submit our group work so others can view and assessed. It is somehow good for us as we are working together and be able to get various answer. However, The time limit given was a bit pressuring. We have to compile everyone's works and submit before 9PM (which before this group leader will give time until 12AM). I think that is the only terrifying part that we have to face. Hope we will adapt this new changes and utilized the "toys" to improve our learning experience. Insya Allah. 
2. I'm glad to meet my friends.
3. I left most important tools at home =.=. Have to go back tomorrow.
4. My new room is very comfortable. Not too big but enough for me. Alhamdulilah
5. Must strive more than status quo (this is from Elite Daily. My lecture mentioned similar one this morning. Did he...)

I'm going to start class in a few days. So I bought a planner to keep track my daily stuff. I need to get organized. One of the thing that I'm particular about is money. adjhlskdgfskgfsk. 

"Prioritize on education and your well-being. Spend less. Be more mindful of your expenditure. Keep track."

After calculating and weighing my budget I only left with RM 35 monthly. That does not include my phone bill and gas (my dad is paying for both. Alhamdulilah.) But still, I hope one day I could afford to include those in my budget. I don't wanna burden my dad.

I have to admit that I spend a lot. Yes. Full of regret. I hope for my new term I can control my cash flow. In sya Allah.

Happy Eidulfitri 2014

Assalamualaikum (May peace be upon you)

Hello. Yesterday (28th July 2014) was Eidulfitri (a celebration for Muslims after the month of Ramadhan - fasting). Alhamdulilah this year once again we were blessed with good health. I wanna blog this last night but I'm busy (hmm), uploading, downloading, transferring, eating and other technical stuff. I ate a lot. Yes! My parents cook everything and I love them all. My all time fav is nasi impit (rice) and kuah kacang + serunding. I didn't have picture for this beacause we were busy 'selfie'. Hahaha.

I'm in charge with cameras, videos and gadget stuff. My grandfather request to take family picture (How sweet!). We also film his video giving Eidulfitri wishes to all his family. He likes it. He also loves selfie. so cute! Hehe.

My dad on the other hand loves monopod. Hahaha (I bought for his anniversary last week hahaha worth it!)

On Eidulfitri there will be wishes and cards. I remember back in 2010 there was no Whatapps and other apps. So we need to text or call our beloved and friends. This year, me and my brother made a pact. We switched off our data and wifi on our phone. Hehehe. The challenge will end on 31st July at noon. So far we made it without phone.Yay! 

Celebration

We didn't go back to our hometown this year. One of the reason is traffic congestion. At normal day it takes about 6 hours but during festive season, it can go up to 12 hours. Our routine now is to visit my grandma (mom's side) a week before. I think is it more convenient that way. My grandfather (dad's side) is living with us so his children come over and visit. I'm glad they are all there. Thank you for visiting us :*. Alhamdulilah

Preparation

We didn't prepare much. Our clothes has been ready months ago.  This year a very special one where we are going for a trip. We were focusing more on the trip rather than Eidulfitri. Hehe I'm excited!

Haul: IRL filter/Pro Phone Filter Stack from Photojojo

Evening people. I ordered this thing around 3 weeks ago (or 4). Since it is posted from US so it takes time to reach Malaysia. Finally its here (23/7/2014). Been wanting this so long.
